Last night after a day of exploring at Monument Valley, my boyfriend and I were starving and looking for food! The restaurant was super full and for good reason. I had the Rosemary Chicken, and my BF the Black Bean Soup and Grilled Veggie. To end our meal was the epic Navajo Frybread with cinnamon apples & ice cream Reuben Heflin restaurant is a hidden gem inside the nicest Hampton Inn I’ve ever been in! The only restaurant open in the area that we could find until 10PM, with amazing selection of Navajo & Western food and great service. Food prices extremely reasonable.

Came here after a sunset tour in Monument Valley and this was one of the few places open past 8pm. We made the right choice. Tucked away in the lobby of the Hampton Inn, this restaurant serves delicious traditional Native American food, Mexican food, and American food. We had the green chile stew and grilled salmon and both dishes were flavorful and hearty. Everything was seasoned to perfection. Try the butternut squash soup, it was very soothing after a long day of hiking and sightseeing.

What a fantastic spot! We visited just once and were beyond impressed with the food, atmosphere, and service. There was only one server managing the entire restaurant, and she did an incredible job keeping everything running smoothly — truly impressive! The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered a lot of dishes, and every single one was packed with flavor. Hands down, this is the best restaurant with amazing food and service near Monument Valley. If you're traveling through the area, this place is an absolute must-visit!

I felt like they sucked me in with the promise of Native American food. Other than fryed Navajo bread, I didn't see or under stand anything on the menu to be Native American. The food I had was good, I just felt like I was in some kind of Americanized version of what the restaurant should have been. Waitress was good but had way too many tables so refills didn't happen and everything was slow. Had to go to the gift shop to pay and that line took 10 or 15 minutes not because the line was long but because of some weird system of recording all the sales on paper. Very strange flow for a restaurant.

The Reuben Heflin Restaurant is located inside the Hampton Inn in Kayenta, AZ. We used Kayenta as a base to explore Monument Valley. My dad and I both enjoyed the Navajo Tacos—they were some of the best I’ve ever had, and I should know, having grown up in New Mexico surrounded by Indian pueblos. The hotel also uses the same space to serve breakfast in the morning. Prices were reasonable, and the service was very good. Note that no alcohol is served in this restaurant and is generally not sold in the area.

We have dined here at least twice. A few years ago, and now in July 2025. They have the best Navajo Taco, bar none, that I have ever eaten. And I’ve had many self-described Navajo Tacos! The gift shop next door is excellent, stocked with authentic signed Native American jewelry as well as books, painting, wares. It is a “not to miss” if you like the culture. Super friendly staff in both places.
